"Anyone who does not want to be vaccinated should go to the mountains"

Universal vaccination is suggested, among others, by Grigoris Gerotziafas, a professor of hematology at the Sorbonne University.

He said the government's decision to extend the obligation was "very right", but he considered it wrong to do so on the basis of age as the only way to deal with the pandemic is universal vaccination.

"How it will be implemented is a matter for the constitutionalists," he said, adding that "we can not talk about compulsion without punitive measures, which should also be universal and not allow the rich to escape."

Mr. Gerotziafas stressed that in Greece the controversy must stop and there must be a consensus for the management of the pandemic as no one can lift the weight of hundreds of dead every day and difficult decisions will have to be made.

"We need to sit at the table, negotiate and decide on tough measures, because when we talk about total mandatory vaccination it is a tough measure and we do it for reasons of necessity," he said.

The professor stressed that compulsory vaccination "does not mean forced injection" but those who choose not to be vaccinated will not be able to join a normal social function.

Anyone who does not want to be vaccinated should not be vaccinated, but can not participate in society. The rules are simple. He can go to the mountains and be alone. "No one will force an injection on him", stressed Mr. Gerotziafas.

The professor explained that the coronavirus causes a serious and deadly disease and with the advent of the Omicron mutation it seems to be transmitted much faster. Based on these data, experts expect a very strong wave in January, even in France, where the vaccination rate for those over 12 years of age reaches 90%.

Especially for tracking in Greece, he characterized the tools and models of calculation through the sewage of professors Sarigiannis and Thomaidis of exceptional quality, noting that they are better than the corresponding French ones.
