"Around ten" carriers of the Omicron coronavirus mutation are being treated in England, UK Health Minister Sajid Javid said this morning.
"At this time I can not confirm any death," added the minister, who did not have available information on whether any of the patients with Omicron have been intubated.
Mr Javid echoed Prime Minister Boris Johnson's message on Sunday night, urging all adults to take the booster dose before the end of the year.
Queues outside the vaccination centers have been formed since the morning by citizens who have completed at least three months from the second dose.
Mr Javid said more vaccination centers would be set up, operating at least 12 hours a day every day until the end of the year except Christmas Day.
However, long waiting periods have been reported until someone can log on to the online platform to make an appointment.
It is estimated that in order to achieve the vaccination target with the booster dose of all citizens over the age of 18 before the end of the year, 1 million doses per day should be given.
As Mr. Javid said, "we are throwing everything away" in the battle against Omicron. "We have to win this race against the growth of this virus," he added.
