The six models posed naked for hours, when they finally realized that they were being watched and that they could face problems. In addition, the incident happened during the month of Ramadan, which created further anger among the locals. According to local media, the models from Ukraine reportedly traveled to the Gulf of Gesek, intending to repeat the famous nude photos on the skyscraper balcony in Dubai last month.
The video released by the Turkish media shows the 6 models sailing in a luxury boat, accompanied by two unknown men. One of the models appears to be taking off the bottom of her bikini while another pair appears to be lying topless on the stern of the ship. The two men seem to know that they are being watched, as at some point, one of them turns around and greets the cameras. According to a report by The Daily Star, a witness allegedly said: "Two of them are having sex".
The Turkish newspaper Lider reported that despite the total lockdown due to coronavirus, the models were sailing on a "luxury boat" in Gesek Bay, "photographing each other naked", wanting to copy the nude photo on a balcony in Dubai.
According to a report by The Sun, one model, 21-year-old Ruslana Kovkova, was among the models on board, according to Turkish media, but later deleted her photos. Two other models from Ukraine who were reportedly on board were 21-year-old Veronia Kurgan and 20-year-old Diana Pogorelaya, as well as another named Cezana.
The Turkish media and locals are particularly outraged that the nude photo was taken during the holy month of Ramadan. "Such an image during the lockdown and the month of Ramadan, caused great outrage," says Lider.
However, the models, unlike in Dubai, were not arrested, and were deported with a ban on entering the country. Instead, they were arrested and interrogated for hours.
