The new Honda HR-V has an interesting appearance and advanced hybrid technology (IMAGES)

With the new H-RV e: HEV, as its full name implies, Honda is repositioning itself in compact SUVs, both in terms of aesthetics and technology.

So the new generation HR-V has a fresh shape, slightly more accentuated SUV elements thanks to its increased by 10 mm distance from the ground and the 18-inch wheels, some influences from the coupe and an emphatic mask in the color of the body.

At the same time, attention has been paid to aerodynamics for the sake of both the reduction of consumption and emissions, but also for the sake of civilized operation.

The modern interior is dominated by the free 9,0-inch touch screen of the infotainment system in the center of the dashboard - the instrument panel incorporates a 7,0-inch screen - while there is also an advanced air conditioning system for air conditioning. Of course, neither the wireless charging surface of the smartphone nor the USB ports are missing, along with all the connectivity possibilities and the Honda Sensing assistance systems.

The spaces inside are bigger than the model it replaces, while the rear Magic Seats with the many and practical settings are also present.

The propulsion system consists of two powerful electric motors connected to an i-VTEC 1.500 cc petrol engine and delivers 96 kW (131 PS) and 253 Nm of torque. The e: HEV system includes three functions, which are automatically selected according to the requirements. For optimum performance, the HR-V starts with electric mode, switching smoothly to hybrid mode, when the driver presses the accelerator harder, while the petrol engine is used more when driving at higher, more stable speeds.

There are also three drivers, Sport, Normal and Econ, while the additional drive mode B can be selected via the gear selector for stronger energy recovery and a more "electric" feel.

The new HR-V e: HEV will be available in Europe at the end of 2021.
