Woman who threatened to kill Trump will be sentenced to 22 years in prison

A French-Canadian woman pleaded guilty today, admitting that three years ago she sent a letter containing poison to the White House, targeting then-US president Donald Trump. Pascal Ferrier, 55, will be sentenced to about 22 years in prison, according to the federal prosecutor's office in Washington.

The woman admitted to making her own ricin, a poisonous, potentially deadly substance, at her home in Quebec. He then included it in a letter addressed to the then president of the United States and also sent threatening letters to eight police officers and corrections officers from Texas.

The sentence for the "violation of the Biological Weapons Act" will be formally announced on April 26 and will amount to 262 months in prison if the court accepts her plea agreement with prosecutors, the office of District Attorney Matthew Graves said. "There is no place for political violence in our country. We hope this epilogue will serve as a warning to those who would try to send toxic substances and threats through the mail,” he added.

According to the indictment, the letter addressed to the White House called him a "disgusting, tyrannical rascal." "Give it up, don't go down in this election" (i.e. the 2020 presidential election), Ferrier urged the Republican, adding that she has sent him "a special gift", i.e. poison, to "help him decide ».

The woman also threatened eight Texas police and corrections officers, whom she held responsible for jailing her for about two months in 2019, on gun charges. After mailing the letters to Canada, she drove to the US but was arrested by border guards when a loaded gun and several rounds of ammunition were found in her possession. She was taken into custody and remained in custody throughout the proceedings.
