An emergency travel instruction and recommendation to Israeli citizens not to visit Turkey in the near future was issued this morning by the Israeli National Security Staff.
According to the statement, there is a real risk that Israeli citizens currently in Turkey could be targeted by Iran.
Iran accuses Israel of being behind the recent assassination of a top Revolutionary Guards military official. The anti-terrorist service of the Israeli National Security Staff estimates that Iran will retaliate and that agents acting in favor of Iranian interests are operating in Turkey with relative ease.
The current Israeli special travel directive also applies to countries bordering Iran.
