The incident between Berlin policemen and Syrian refugees has reached significant proportions, with the former using particularly offensive and xenophobic expressions during the execution of an arrest warrant.
In a video released online, officers can be seen trying to restrain a man in order to handcuff him, with his wife shouting "No need to hit!" and "This is my home." "This is my country and you are here as a guest", one of the policemen replies and continues, addressing the woman: "Voulosto! Don't touch me again! You are here in our country, you must behave according to our laws. You, don't yell at me and don't hug me again, because I'll put you in jail." At the front of the episode are the couple's two infants.
As it became known later, the two policemen arrested Syros for fraud related to welfare benefits, while there is a similar complaint against his wife. The Syrian couple, however, filed a lawsuit against the police officers for bodily harm, providing the relevant video as well. From the side of the police it was announced that the case has been assigned to the competent independent agency.
