David Goodall, the oldest Australian scientist, 104, who traveled to Switzerland to end his life, died today, the euthanasia support organization Exit International announced.
"At 12.30 today (May 10), Professor David Goodall, 104, died peacefully in Basel, Switzerland, after a Nembutal injection," Dr. wrote on Twitter. Philip Nietzsche, founder of Exit International, who helped organize his last trip.
The scientist, a university professor specializing in ecology, did not suffer from a terminal illness, but his quality of life had deteriorated. He applied and made an appointment with a suicide aid organization in Basel, according to Exit International.
