Ecologists: "Listen to the recommendations of the Auditor General in relation to the crocodile park"

The Special Report of the Auditor General regarding the creation of a crocodile theme park, which was prepared a few days ago, is moving in the right direction and therefore the state must take it very seriously.

We note first of all that one of the two Directors of the requesting company is an executive of DISY. At the same time, we emphasize that the submission of the company's tax returns for the year 2015 and beyond, is pending.

The report notes, among other things, that the Veterinary Services in the case of handling the case of an unlicensed zoo, have reached the limits of negligence.

As also mentioned in the report, for this project no feasibility study has been prepared and the reliability of the company does not seem to have sufficiently troubled the Ministry of Agriculture.

The Special Report fully justifies the reports of the Movement of Ecologists - Citizens' Cooperation and the Commissioner for the Environment regarding the lack of know-how in the breeding of crocodiles and in general in the care of these reptiles.

The Movement of Ecologists - Citizens' Cooperation considers that the Special Report on the creation of a theme park of crocodiles in the communities of Tochni and Psematismenos should be taken very seriously in the case of Achna.
