Accept: "A non-commissioned officer cannot open his own drain..." (VIDEO)

Regarding the unacceptable and reprehensible incident with the racist and homophobic videos of an EF non-commissioned officer, the President of Accept - Loatki Cyprus, Nikolas Tryfon, commented on the Front Page, who spoke about complaints regarding intimidation, torture and sexual attacks received by national guards.

He initially stated that what happened is a criminal offence. "We as Accept decided to prepare a questionnaire to see what is really happening in the army."

He added that they chose 20 cases from those they received. "It shows the state of the National Guard and is a reflection of society."

He emphasized that they want to prevent the worst that can happen. "These rhetorics are stigmatizing, they leave young people in a vulnerable situation where they can't express themselves."

He pointed out that in the army there is a cap. "A non-commissioned officer cannot open his mouth and express his opinions as he pleases."
Mr. Tryfon added that it is an immoral act. "I don't understand the need for everyone to come out and express their opinion. There are limitations to free expression. They incite people to verbal and physical violence."

He emphasized that so far the legislation has not been implemented. "There was hate speech from Archbishop Chrysostomos, Metropolitans and Members of Parliament," he said.

Finally, he said that a child cannot go through all these phenomena of society and then expect a healthy society in a rule of law.

It is recalled that the case file was sent on Tuesday to the Legal Service for study and instructions.
