Nicosia motorway: Emergency gates - Who is affected by road works

Emergency gates are being installed on the Nicosia motorway and there are other planned works for this particular motorway.

According to an announcement from the Department of Public Works, from Monday 29/8/2022 until Thursday 1/9/2022, from 18:00 in the afternoon until 06:00 in the morning of the following day, door installation work will be carried out emergency on the central island of the Nicosia – Limassol highway 1000m. approximately after the entrance from Akti Kyverniti from Nicosia to Limassol.

During the execution of the works, the express traffic lanes to Limassol and to Nicosia will be closed in sections of 200m. approx. and traffic will move to the adjacent slow traffic lanes.

Also, on Friday 26/8/2022 until Sunday 28/8/2022, between the hours of 09:00 - 16:00, sweeping operations will be carried out on sections of the Nicosia - Limassol highway and the Limassol bypass road, from the Muttayakas exit to the uneven intersection of the New Limassol Hospital.

During the execution of the works, the express lane of the highway / bypass road will be partially closed for a length of 200m. approximately in one direction only, at all times, and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.

Also, one traffic lane of the connecting roads of the roundabouts will be partially closed for a length of 100m. approximately in one direction only, at all times, and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.

The Department of Public Works apologizes for the inevitable inconvenience that will be caused and calls on the public to demonstrate the necessary understanding and compliance with the temporary road signs and the instructions of the Police.
