Four Plans for Businesses and the Self-Employed prepared and will be promoted immediately by the Government in the context of measures to support the economy from the effects of the coronavirus.

The final form of the Plans, according to information from the Brief website, was finalized yesterday (24/3) teleconference of the Ministers of Labor, Zetas Aimilianidou, and Finance, Konstantinos Petridis, with representatives of parliamentary parties, on the basis of the proposals submitted in the previous days.

The 4 Business and Self-Employed Plans are as follows:

Scheme 1 - Self-employed
With regard to the self-employed, the Plan will provide that, the state will pay as an allowance up to 50% of the salary / income of these persons.

Scheme 2 - Small businesses (up to 5 people)
Regarding small businesses that employ up to 5 people, the Plan provides subsidy of 70% of employees' salary, under the condition that keep their employees at work and have suffered reduction of turnover their more than 25%.

Plan 3 - Compulsory suspension of work (due to Decrees)
With regard to the companies, which, according to Decrees, have suspended their operations, the Plan provides that they will be able to to declare 90% of their employees to receive 60% of their salary by the State.

Scheme 4 - Partial suspension or loss of 25% of turnover
Those companies that have partially suspended their operations as well as companies that will show a reduction of 25% of their turnover in March 2020 compared to the corresponding month last year, will be able to declare 60% of their staff for two Plans which will provide:

1/ Either the employee not to work and receive 60% of his earnings by the State

2/ Either the employee to continue working and the state to cover 60% of his salary and the employer completes the balance, so that the employee receives exactly the same salary they received before.

For the inclusion of companies with partial suspension of operations or loss of 25% of their turnover two conditions will apply:

FirstThe company undertakes not to lay off employees until 6 months after the end of the emergency. For example, if the emergency situation ends in June, the company will have to commit that by the end of the year it will not proceed with any redundancies as a surplus.

Second, The company will not be able to include in 60% of employees who will receive the special unemployment benefit of 60%, shareholders, executive directors, executives and / or directors.

It is noted, however, that the inclusion of employees in this Plan will be done with the consent of the employee.
