The Police arrested two young men, aged 19 and 21, last night, as part of an investigation into a case involving a large number of people fighting in Geri.
As a representative of the Communication Branch of the Police Headquarters told KYPE, around 10.10 last night there was information about a fight between a large number of young people and a fire in a vehicle.
Members of the Police rushed to the scene where they found about 10 persons causing damage to a certain vehicle, which was on fire.
The youths, as soon as they saw the Police, fled in different directions and the police managed to arrest two of them. They are a 19-year-old and a 21-year-old.
The vehicle was completely burnt. The fire was extinguished by the Fire Service.
It was then established that the vehicle is the property of a 21-year-old man, who was located by the Police.
The owner of the vehicle reported to the Police that he was in the area with 7-8 other people and they were attacked by 20-30 unknown persons, who, as he reported, were holding knives and sticks.
He also said that his party ran away and that's when they saw some of the assailants approach the vehicle, beat it with sticks and stones and then set it on fire.
