The minimum wage in the occupied areas is unchanged - It amounts to 406 euros

Unchanged at 7000 TL gross (approximately 465 euros) and 6090 TL (approximately 406 euros) net, the minimum wage in the occupied areas remains after the new meeting of the competent committee, which includes the "Ministry of Labor", trade unions and organizations of employers.

According to the Occupied Territories, the session was about examining the objections of the employers who considered the 7000 TL a very high amount and at least one guild, El Sen, which asked for an increase because it considered it low.

The decision to keep the amount at 7000 TL, was taken by a majority with employers voting against. This decision will now be ratified by the "cabinet".

Shortly before leaving for Ankara yesterday, the "prime minister", Faiz Sujiuoglu, said that now the objections in this matter should stop, saying that the "government" will support this decision, considering that even with 7000 TL one can hardly cope. ».

The representative of the T / C employers' union, Alp Dzegiz Alp, warned of serious problems that the companies will have to face and stated that they will carry out a further evaluation of the situation after the minimum wage is published in the "official newspaper".

The president of the T / C union of construction contractors, Jafer Gurdjieffer, said that the setting of the minimum wage does not make happy either the employees or the employers. The minimum wage, he added, is not in line with the financial difficulties they face in the "country" and he argued that it is not the right approach to look for a way out by targeting the minimum wage.

The leader of the People's Party, Kudret Ozersay, accused the "government" of taking populist steps and suggested that the minimum wage be balanced with the lowest wage in the "public sector".

The leader of the Renaissance party, Enver τουztürk, called it unacceptable that the "government" is pursuing populist approaches to the issue of the minimum wage, at a time when there are constant increases in goods and services and inflation is high and stressing that the amount set as minimum wage is below the poverty line.
