The Ministry of Health announces that today, January 17 2022:
- 3 people died from the disease COVID-19, bringing the total number of deaths to 684.
- 270 patients COVID-19 of which 94 are in serious condition. 70,64% of patients do not have a history of vaccination.
- 17 post-COVID patients who have ceased to be infectious (declassified cases), continue to be hospitalized in intubated condition due to COVID in an Intensive Care Unit.
- A total of 141,213 disease detection tests have been performed by the molecular method (PCR) and the antigen rapid detection method (antigen rapid test).
- 2,918 (positivity rate: 2,07%) new cases of the disease COVID-19 detected by molecular tests (PCR) and antigen rapid test (antigen rapid test), raising the total number of cases in 228,656.

A. Deaths from the disease COVID-19:
The 3 people who died with the ultimate cause of death being attributed to the disease COVID-19, relate to:
- An 70-year-old man who died on January 16 at the Limassol General Hospital.
- An 91-year-old man who died on January 17 at the Limassol General Hospital.
- An 64-year-old man who died on January 17 at Paphos General Hospital.
Therefore, the total number of deaths with the ultimate cause of the disease COVID-19 amounts to 684, of which:
430 men (62,9%), and
- 254 women (37,1%).
The average age of those who die from the disease is 76 years.
B. Patients:
In total, 270 patients of the disease are treated in the hospitals of OKYPY COVID-19, of which 94 in serious condition or in MAF conditions.
Of the 94 patients in serious condition, 34 are intubated, 6 are admitted to an intravenous intensive care unit and 54 to an intensive care unit.

C. Positive incidents Covid-19 (PCR test and rapid antigen test):
