A yellow warning for an "exceptionally" high temperature on Wednesday between 11am and 00pm, the Met Office has issued.
According to the warning, the maximum indoor temperature is expected to reach around 40 degrees Celsius between the hours of 11am and 00pm.
The public is advised to be aware of the expected high Temperatures.
"Some health risks are possible among vulnerable population groups such as the elderly and young children," the warning says.
Seasonal low pressure affects the area.
Today, the weather will be mostly clear, however clouds that will develop in the afternoon and early afternoon cannot be ruled out to give isolated rain, mainly in the mountains. Winds will be mainly southwest to northwest, light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort and locally in the afternoon on the southern coast, moderate to strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea will initially be calm to a little rough on the south and east coasts and a little rough on the rest of the coasts, to gradually become generally a little rough. The temperature will rise to around 40 degrees inland, around 35 on the south and north coasts, around 33 on the east coast and around 30 degrees on the west coast as well as in the higher mountains.
Tonight, the weather will be mostly clear, although there will be increased low cloud at times. In the morning hours, a thin fog may form, mainly on the coasts. Winds will be mainly southwest to northwest, initially light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort, to gradually become light, 3 Beaufort. The sea will be a little rough, but on the southern and eastern coasts it will gradually become calm to a little rough. The temperature will drop to around 24 degrees in the interior and on the eastern coast, around 23 on the rest of the coast and around 20 degrees in the higher mountains.
On Thursday, the weather will be mostly clear, however there may be locally increased clouds at intervals, mainly in the mountains. The temperature will not change appreciably, to remain above the average climatic values.
