A 14-year-old minor was driving a semi-truck, with a 17-year-old passenger

Yesterday, the police in Paphos filed hundreds of complaints as part of traffic controls.

Speaking to Trito, the police spokesman, Christos Andreou, noted that the detection of a 14-year-old driving a semi-truck with a 17-year-old passenger is of particular concern.

He also stated that 100 checks were carried out on professional drivers and 104 complaints were made.

They mostly concern tachographs, as well as worn tires, protective bars on trucks and problems with the running lights of vehicles.

From the controls on the rest of the road network, 200 complaints emerged, for driving without a license, without insurance, for using a mobile phone and not using a seat belt.

In addition, 10 modified vehicles were impounded.

At the same time, Mr. Andreou mentioned that an operation was carried out on a pan-Cypriot basis to crack down on illegal employment.

There were 7 complaints, 2 in Nicosia, 3 in Famagusta and 2 in Limassol and 13 people were arrested. The employers of the persons who were illegally employed were also reported in writing.
