The Vaccination Portal opens for those who use immunosuppressive drugs

The Vaccination Portal opens today, Monday at 8 in the morning, for people who actively use biological agents or other immunosuppressive drugs.

Patients who fall into these categories should schedule their vaccination through the Vaccination Portal until Tuesday, April 6, at 7 p.m. 5.891 vaccination appointments with Pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccines will be available.

In the meantime, according to an announcement by the Ministry of Health, as of April 3, 161.526 vaccinations have been given.

114.660 relate to the administration of the first installment and 1 relate to the reception of both doses. The first dose was given to 46.866 people belonging to the vulnerable groups, 1 to bedridden people, while the vaccination started in the closed structures and 6.374 people in the Central Prisons have been vaccinated with the first dose.

The announcement of the Ministry of Health states that on the basis of the planning for the vaccination for COVID-19, the Ministry continues the implementation of the National Vaccination Plan, having set as a top priority the vaccination coverage of individuals who belong to the groups with increased risk of serious disease.

According to the hierarchy set up by the ad hoc Committee set up for this purpose, priority for vaccination will be given to those who actively use biological agents or other immunosuppressive drugs.

Individuals who fall into the above categories should proceed to their vaccination planning, through the Vaccination Portal, from Monday, April 5, at 8 am, until Tuesday, April 6, at 7 pm. The appointment to be arranged can be rescheduled for the same type of vaccine, if deemed necessary for medical reasons, by their treating physician, with appropriate justification.

The Vaccination Portal will operate in the usual way and those interested will be informed of the type of vaccine available at each Vaccination Center. 5.891 vaccination appointments with Pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccines will be available.

It is noted that a necessary condition is the correct registration of patients' medical data in the GESSY software by the treating physicians. Patients who have priority for vaccination are informed by a text message on the mobile phone that has been registered in their personal file in the GESSY software.

For technical reasons, patients receiving biological agents upon request and nominal approval from the Pharmaceutical Services will be able to arrange a vaccination appointment at the next opening of the Vaccination Portal. Patients on continuous and high doses of corticosteroids will then receive different treatment and information.

In the case of patients who are not beneficiaries of GESS or who receive medicinal products that fall into the specific categories privately, they will be given priority for vaccination, based on the above criteria, after confirmation of their treating physician and sending a request to emvoliasmos. eidikes@moh.gov.cy, where the patient's interest in vaccination will be expressed, the Identification Number / Identification Document Number, contact telephone number, will be stated that he belongs to the group of people who actively use biological agents or other immunosuppressive drugs and The relevant certificate of the treating physician will be attached.
