The prison guards have been on strike for 15 days without pay - "We will continue until the end"

"The memorandum was also given to the Vice-President of the DISY, Haris Georgiadis, who told us that he would take care of the matter. We will give the government one or two days to see how it will develop. If our issues are not implemented, we will come back with drastic measures from Thursday," said Mr. Maltese.

He went on to say, “This is the first time in history that there has been a strike in the Prisons Department. It's unpaid, no one gets paid. It is difficult but the injustice is great. We will not take a step back, we will go all the way."

Tomorrow, as Mr. Maltezos mentioned, they will hold a protest outside the gate of the Central Prisons.
