Chief of Police: The officer remains in his duties

The director of the Central Prison, Anna Aristotelous, fears for her life, who denounces a senior official as the person who asked a convict to obtain a video of her personal life.

The Director of Prisons informed the Minister of Justice, Stefi Drakou, about the incident.

Arriving at the Ministry of Justice, the Chief of Police stated that, "you understand that the minister has asked me after the meeting he had with Mrs. Aristotle, the Director of Prisons, to have a meeting so that I can be better informed about what it is about, in relation to what has been reported since the morning and saw the light of publicity from the director ".

"For objective purposes, I do not know what the decision of the Attorney General is, but it may be better for him to be appointed from outside."

Asked if he was worried about the incident, the Chief said he was informed today.

He went on to say, "We will then wait for the development of the case. On the way I found Mrs. Aristotle and I told her that we should discuss the issue of her safety. "Because, as mentioned, there may be some danger."

Asked what is provided in such cases, he said that "it is not a simple criminal or disciplinary case. The complainant is also different, as is the person to whom the complaints are directed. It is not a case that can be handled by a low-ranking police officer. According to the regulations, it is up to the minister, but to see the complaint first and then we will see ".

He added that the said police officer will remain in his duties and that at the moment there is no complaint. "According to the regulations, there must be a written complaint in order to decide on the next steps."
