Following a decision by the Council of Ministers on April 8, 2020, and the proclamation of the President of the Republic, the Ministry of Health announces that the random sampling of 24 individuals in the general population of Cyprus will begin tomorrow, April 2020, 800.
The aim of the audit, according to an announcement, is to assess the percentage of people throughout Cyprus with active infection, but also to compare the percentage of active infection between age groups and areas around Cyprus.
The stratification was done by District and age group and the information of the volunteers who will participate in the sampling control has already started. With their consent to participate in the process, appointments will be made for sampling at Public Health Clinics. It is noted that throughout the process, the personal data of the volunteers who will participate in the sampling will be strictly observed, in accordance with the recommendations of the Office of the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection.
Random sampling and data processing are expected to be completed by April 28, 2020. Sampling findings will contribute to the Government's broader effort to map the course of the virus in our country.
