According to the Ministry of Health, the results of the coronavirus tests of the Greek soldier were negative.
In a statement, the Ministry of Health states that according to information received by the Ministry of Health from the Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics, the result in all samples of a patient under investigation for coronavirus was negative.
Despite the negative result, the patient, who is considered high risk, will remain for treatment for further follow-up, as provided by the protocol and instructions of the World Health Organization and the European Center for Disease Control and Prevention (ECDC), he notes.
At the same time, the other people who had close contact with the soldier, both inside and outside the camp, have been informed and remain in custody until that person is re-evaluated.
The Minister of Health, Konstantinos Ioannou, contacted yesterday from Brussels with the Minister of Defense, Savva Angelidis, informing him about the further actions, which will be taken based on the instructions from the WHO.
For any development, the Ministry of Health will make official announcements.
