Police: Calls for the implementation of a new decree banning demonstrations

The decree came into force immediately and provides for the prohibition of mass events, gatherings, demonstrations, parades, concerts, open-air festivals and festivals in public and private places, until midnight on November 30, 2020.

According to a statement, the Police will continue the checks for the faithful implementation of the decrees. Persons found to be in breach of the relevant decrees or to take actions that may incite other persons to violate the decrees or to commit offenses will be reported or a criminal case brought against them before a Court.

The ban on mass rallies stemmed from epidemiological data, the rapid increase in the number of cases and the desperate need to stop the further spread of the pandemic that endangers public health.

We are going through a very difficult period and we must all comply with the decrees and recommendations of experts, in order to achieve the reduction of the spread of the virus in our country, the Police notes.
