Police: Under what conditions will house checks be carried out during the holidays

The Council of Ministers decided today, Tuesday, small relaxations for the eve of Christmas and New Year.

On December 24, 2020, traffic will be allowed until 23.00 and on New Year's Eve, it will be allowed until 01.00 and the restriction of 10 people to gatherings inside houses, including minors, remains.

Asked to comment on the police inspections of homes during the holidays, Police Spokesman Christos Andreou said the policy would be the same as in previous cases.

Home searches will be based on information on violations of decrees and the Police will act accordingly, however, always within a legal framework.
The goal, as he said, is not the complaints but the observance of the measures for the security of the citizens.

It is worth noting that in the context of the efforts made by the Police to further intensify the measures and the full implementation of the decrees aimed at dealing with the pandemic, the Minister of Justice Ms. Emily Giolitis and the Chief of Police Mr. Stelios Papatheodorou decided to strengthen ways of communication of the citizens with the Police, as well as to set up a temporary unit in the Police, in each province, in order to better deal with the situation.

In addition to the various means of filing complaints by citizens for violation of the decrees, citizens will be able, either anonymously or anonymously, to file complaints or transmit information regarding the violation of the relevant decrees by citizens, premises or companies at 1460, 22606803 and 22606804 * XNUMX.
