In his statements to KYPE, Mr. Pieris stated that from the morning information received from the doctor who is watching him, the condition of the 27-year-old SYOP commander is still extremely critical. Mr. Pieris said that the SYOP commander had fractures in the spine and swelling in the head and on Monday after his injury he was transferred from the Paphos General Hospital to the Nicosia General Hospital, where he is being treated in the Intensive Care Unit.
According to Mr. Pieris, the SYOP commando, during the exercise, jumped from the helicopter, as it was planned, based on the scenario of the exercise, and fell into the water in the sea area of Lara.
The SYOP commander commanded a boat, based on the scenario, and it was found that he had lost consciousness. He was then taken to the Accident and Emergency Department of the Paphos General Hospital and from there to the Nicosia General Hospital, where he is being treated in an extremely critical condition.
