The waiting list for centers and churches is huge, with couples wishing to join the holy bonds of matrimony having to be patient.
Speaking to Mesimeri and Kati, the Press Representative of the Association of Wedding and Banquet Professionals, Iota Kapari, said that couples who are in a hurry to get married can do so on a weekday.
"Last year we had a lot of weddings, 60% of which were weddings that were postponed due to the pandemic. Last year, there really weren't any dates available for people to get married, with the result that these weddings have been moved to 2023 and some to 2024, so it is logical that the dates are under pressure," said Mrs. Kapari.
Speaking about the cost of weddings, he said that they are currently serving customers who committed to them in 2021 and 2022 when the prices were different. "A little war, a little increases at the moment the new contracts are increased in cost" he pointed out.
In closing, he gave a piece of advice to those getting married to cut costs, “What we've noticed as professionals is that now the number of dinner guests has increased and they don't have many cocktail guests. So a good idea would be to invite all the guests for food and avoid the cocktail process. It's a good way to share our joy with friends and family."
