A 33-year-old man was detained for the case of forgery, forgery and circulation of a forged document, illegal entry and stay in the territory of the Republic.
According to a representative of the Paphos police directorate, a man of African origin showed up at Paphos airport yesterday morning, in order to leave for Marseille.
During the passport control, suspicions were raised that he presented a fake identity card. This person was interrogated and admitted that his real details are other than what is stated in the card, that he is from Congo and not from Marseille and that he is 33 years old.
Further examinations did not reveal when he legally entered the Republic. He was subsequently arrested and remanded in custody.
