Handcuffs on a 36-year-old for theft and causing malicious damage

A 36-year-old resident of Limassol was arrested yesterday on a warrant and detained in order to facilitate the investigation into an investigated case of theft and causing malicious damage, committed in Limassol, on January 25, 2022.

The case was reported to the Police by a resident of Limassol. According to the complainant, around 10 p.m. On January 25, strangers broke the window of her car, which was parked outside a bakery in Limassol, and stole a bag from it. Inside the bag, as the complainant stated, were her passport, her husband's passport and their registration cards in Cyprus.

In this case, a testimony was obtained against the 36-year-old, on the basis of which an arrest warrant was issued against him.

Around 7.30 p.m. Yesterday, a motorized police patrol located the 36-year-old driving a car on a street in Limassol. Upon locating him, the police signaled him to stop for a check, however he developed speed and tried to escape.

The members of the Police followed the vehicle, driven by the 36-year-old, who after falling into a series of traffic violations, entered a dead end, as a result of which his arrest was made possible.

A search followed in the car where the 36-year-old was riding, in which two passports and two foreigner registration cards were found, which were found to have been reported to the Police, in the previous days, as theft.

The Limassol Minor Offenses Department is investigating the case.
