Dozens of Turkish Cypriots gathered in the area and protested against the occupation regime, which bans the passage of citizens from the occupied to the free areas, as part of the measures imposed to deal with the pandemic, demanding the immediate opening of the Pergamon roadblock.

According to the Turkish Cypriot media, the protest was attended by Turkish Cypriots who live in the occupied territories but work in Pyla and for this reason went to the roadblock with their vehicles, asking the pseudo-police to allow them to cross.
