The Fire Service and Forestry Department battled the flames overnight, after the fire that broke out within the borders of the Communities of 'Arsos Limassol, Pretori and Kedares in the district of Paphos.
According to the Fire Service Spokesman, Andreas Ketti, the fire is under control and is assessed as manageable.
It burned a total area of approximately 1 (one) square km of dry grasses, trees and low wild vegetation.
The superhuman overnight efforts of the firefighting forces, especially the Fire Service and Dept. Forestry but also the Game Fund, Civil Defense and Volunteer groups limited the fire.
No aerial means are currently needed.
Firefighters continue to contain the fire with the advice of earth movers and to carry out final extinguishing and deal with any rekindling.
