Dr. Karagiannis: This is how we do not celebrate Easter - The necessary measures are not observed either (VIDEO)

At noon and something was hosted the member of the epidemiological team of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Petros Karagiannis, who spoke about the increase of daily cases but also about the festive period of Easter.

He initially said the situation was deteriorating on a daily basis and "if we are not careful we will not celebrate Easter". He even finds that the necessary measures are not observed either in workplaces or in department stores and in extracurricular activities.

He explained that the increase in daily cases will continue due to the multi-level opening. "The mutated virus is circulating in other provinces (except Limassol) with the result that they show an increase."

He then spoke about the AstraZeneca vaccine and the reactions that exist, describing them as unnecessary. "People who want to be vaccinated are at a high level and all that remains is to call their age group."

He also referred to the delays that exist between the first and second dose, emphasizing that "we must not forget the self-protection measures, especially if we have taken only the first dose."

Regarding the medical staff that was not vaccinated, Dr. Karagiannis clarified that 80% have been vaccinated, while 50% of the nurses have been vaccinated.

Finally, he spoke about the festive period of Easter, emphasizing that the number of cases will stabilize in the coming days. "With so many activities open, it will take some time to see a reduction in cases. "Only with a lockdown will we see a sharp decrease," he concluded.
