- 122 patients COVID-19 22 of whom are in serious condition.
- A total of 11,733 disease detection tests have been performed, of which 4,989 by the molecular method (PCR) and 6,744 by the rapid antigen detection method (rapid test).
- 339 new cases of the disease were detected and confirmed by molecular tests (PCR), bringing the total number of cases to 15,789. 339 includes 98 verifications from rapid tests of the previous days.
- In 196 cases from the rapid antigen test (rapid test) there was a positive result, which should be verified by the molecular method (PCR).
The current results are detailed.
A. Deaths from the disease COVID-19:
The two people who died with the ultimate cause of death being attributed to the disease COVID-19, it's about:
- A man, aged 91, with underlying diseases, who was treated at the General Hospital of Famagusta.

COVID chamber | 9 | |
Intensive Care Unit | 5 | |
Λεμεσού (31 patients) | COVID chamber | 31 |
Blessed (1 patient) | COVID chamber | 1 |
C. Molecular examination (PCR test)
Of the 4,989 laboratory diagnoses performed today by the molecular method (PCR), 339 cases of the disease were identified and verified COVID-19, which emerged as follows:
86 cases from 709 samples taken through the process of tracking contacts of already confirmed cases.
117 cases from 2,396 samples taken through private initiative.

2 cases from 250 samples received under the program of referrals by Personal Physicians and control of special groups through the Public Health Clinics.
2 cases of 201 samples taken during the control of the ELDYK camp.
98 cases from 103 samples taken for verification by the method of molecular examination of positive results detected by the rapid antigen test method in the previous days.
In addition, the following laboratory tests were performed without detecting a case:
From samples taken as part of the passenger and repatriate control, 934 laboratory tests were completed, and
From laboratory samples taken in the context of control of the Cyprus Basketball Federation and the Cyprus Volleyball Federation, 44 laboratory diagnoses were performed.
D. Antigen rapid test: From the 6,744 tests performed with the method of rapid antigen detection (rapid test), 196 positive results were obtained.
These 196 cases will be examined by the molecular PCR method, in order to be verified.
