Nightmare chase in Limassol-Top traffic from a 30-year-old driver

The arrest of a 30-year-old man after an episodic pursuit was made shortly after midnight by the police in Limassol. The 30-year-old refused to stop being checked by members of the traffic police and caused multiple traffic accidents.

According to the police, ten minutes before midnight and while the 30-year-old was driving his car in Trachoni with 18-year-old and a 16-year-old as passengers, he was signaled to stop for control by police of the British bases.
The driver, not only did not stop, but developed speed and deliberately crashed into a police patrol of the bases in which two of its members were riding. He then developed speed to escape. A chase ensued, while the help of the police of the Republic was requested.

Upon entering the territory of the Republic and specifically in the area of ​​Ypsonas, the 30-year-old driver again refused to stop at the instructions of the police. Driving dangerously, he entered the opposite flow of traffic on the Vertical Road of the New Port - Hospital.

Then, while he was continuing to drive against the normal course of vehicles, the car driven by the 30-year-old collided with a car driven by a 22-year-old and then with two patrols of the Republic police and the Bases. As a result of the collision, the suspect car climbed the sidewalk, hit an adjacent tree and then came to a standstill.

The occupants of all the cars, namely the 22-year-old, four police officers, the 30-year-old driver, the 18-year-old co-driver and the 16-year-old passenger, were injured and taken by ambulance to the city hospital. It was found that their injuries were minor with more serious, that of the 30-year-old driver who suffered a broken arm. After receiving first aid, they were all discharged.

The 30-year-old was arrested for a series of road violations. He declined to give a sample to test for alcohol and narcotics.
