The Ministry of Health announces that today, December 29 2021:
- 5 people died from the disease COVID-19, bringing the total number of deaths to 635.
- 174 patients COVID-19 of which 84 are in serious condition. 82,76% of patients do not have a history of vaccination.
- 15 post-COVID patients who have ceased to be infectious (declassified cases), continue to be hospitalized in intubated condition due to COVID in an Intensive Care Unit.
- A total of 118,894 disease detection tests have been performed by the molecular method (PCR) and the antigen rapid detection method (antigen rapid test).
- 3002 (positive rate: 2,52% new cases of the disease COVID-19 detected by molecular tests (PCR) and antigen rapid test (antigen rapid test), raising the total number of cases in 157,928.

A. Deaths from the disease COVID-19:
The 5 people who died with the ultimate cause of death being attributed to the disease COVID-19, relate to:
- A woman, aged 74, who ended up on December 29 at the General Hospital of Famagusta.
- A 87-year-old man, who ended up on December 29 at the Paphos General Hospital.
- A 77-year-old woman, who ended up on December 29 at the Limassol General Hospital.
- An 81-year-old man who died on December 29 at the Nicosia General Hospital.
- A woman, 94 years old, who ended up at home on December 29.
Therefore, the total number of deaths with the ultimate cause of the disease COVID-19 amounts to 635, of which:
404 men (63,6%), and
- 231 women (36,4%).
The average age of those who die from the disease is 76 years.
B. Patients:
In total, 174 patients of the disease are treated in the hospitals of OKYPY COVID-19, of which 84 in serious condition or in MAF conditions.
Of the 84 patients in serious condition, 24 are intubated, 9 are admitted to an intravenous intensive care unit and 51 to an intensive care unit.

C. Positive incidents Covid-19 (PCR test and rapid antigen test):
