He arrived in Cyprus with over 15 kilos of cannabis and was arrested at the airport

A 48-year-old woman was arrested by the Police at Larnaca airport after she had 15 kilos and 330 grams of cannabis in her luggage.

According to the Press Office of the Police Headquarters, shortly after four in the afternoon of Sunday, May 23, members of YKAN and the Customs Department checked the luggage of a 48-year-old woman who arrived at Larnaca airport on a flight from Thessaloniki.

During the inspection, 26 nylon packages containing 15 kilos and 330 grams of cannabis were found in her luggage, while the amount of 48 euros was found in the possession of the 350-year-old.

The woman was arrested on an arrest warrant, to facilitate police investigations into a case of illegal import and possession of drugs, illegal supply of drugs by another person, illegal possession of drugs for the purpose of supply to another person and money laundering.

Later today, the woman is expected to be brought before the Larnaca District Court for the issuance of a detention order.

The case is being investigated by the Larnaca District Committee of YKAN.
