An explosion occurred on Wednesday night at a residence in the Anavargou area, with the Police investigating a case of attempted destruction of property with explosives and injury to its owner.
According to Paphos Assistant Police Operations Director Michalis Nikolaou, around 21:50 yesterday, an explosion occurred outside the kitchen door of the 58-year-old Public Prosecutor's residence in Paphos. The 58-year-old works at the Paphos District Court.
As informed by KYPE, at the time of the explosion the 58-year-old woman was at home with her family. From the explosion, she was slightly injured and was taken by ambulance to the Accident and Emergency Department of the Paphos General Hospital. Then, after receiving First Aid, he was discharged.
The scene remains cordoned off and under police guard. This morning the scene will be visited by pyrotechnicians from the Police Headquarters as well as members of the Criminal Investigation Service for a detailed examination of the scene, while extensive examinations will be carried out in the surrounding area both by closed surveillance circuits and to collect any other evidence to identify the perpetrator .
Investigations into the case are being continued by the Paphos Crime Detection Department.
