An explosion occurred on the evening of Tuesday 13/02 in a bedroom of a two-storey house in Athianou after a gas leak from a cylinder resulted in one person being injured and taken to the hospital.
According to the Spokesman of the Fire Service, Andreas Ketti, the explosion caused extensive damage to the bedroom, the furniture and the equipment, while a person inside the room was injured and taken by ambulance to the hospital's Emergency Department Larnaca.
The Spokesperson stated that the circumstances under which the explosion occurred will be investigated by the Police in collaboration with the relevant State Service (Electromechanical Service).
