The inspections are intensified after the last cases

The latest "orphan" cases have also alerted the Police.

There is a danger of a new wave of the pandemic, with the Police on their part remaining vigilant regarding the Law on Infection.

The Police continues with undiminished intensity, the strict controls for faithful compliance with the Ministerial Decrees, which aim at limiting the spread of the Koronovirus.

In the last few days (Friday and Saturday) 886 checks were carried out by the Police throughout Cyprus. According to the Police, 35 premises were identified in violation of the Law on Infection, resulting in an equal number of complaints.

At the same time, the Minister of Justice, Emily Giolitis, after a communication she had with the Chief of Police, Stelios Papatheodorou, and requested more intensive controls for the observance of the decrees.

While in turn Mr. Papatheodorou gave clear instructions how to continue the coordinated and targeted control operations.
