A 22-year-old man was taken into custody following a pursuit on Wednesday night for traffic offenses and a stabbing.
According to the Press Representative of ADE Paphos and Head of TAE Paphos Michalis Nikolaou, at around 20:35 members of the Paphos Traffic Police, who were conducting checks, detected through the system a vehicle that was circulating without a license and without insurance.
They signaled the driver to stop, but he sped up in an attempt to escape and, driving recklessly and dangerously, lost control and then hit a pavement and came to rest. As it was established, it was a 22-year-old man, who was arrested for spontaneous offences.
Further inside the vehicle was found a knife with a pointed end which is prohibited and the 22-year-old was re-arrested for carrying a knife and is in custody.
