A 30-year-old man was arrested in Limassol for malicious damage, joint assault and public insult, who allegedly attacked a bus driver and caused damage of 2.600 euros, when he was asked to wear a protective mask.
According to the Police, the incident took place yesterday afternoon, while an EMEL bus picked up passengers at a stop on Franklin Roosevelt Avenue.
The 30-year-old, who was accompanied by a woman, he was not wearing a protective mask and when the driver asked him to wear it, he allegedly punched him in the face and then started cursing him. Leaving the bus, the suspect allegedly threw stones at it, as a result of which his windshield broke, causing damage of 2.600 euros.
A court warrant was secured against the 30-year-old and he was arrested today, while during interrogation he makes various allegations, which are being investigated.
