Seven deaths and 4.214 new cases in the last week in Cyprus

The Ministry of Health issued an announcement about new cases of the disease COVID-19 for the week of November 18 – 24, 2022.

The Ministry of Health announces that for the week of November 18 – 24, 2022:

– 8 deaths were announced, one of which in September 2021

- Relate to:

• A man, aged 84, who passed away on 06/09/2021

• A man, aged 78, who passed away on 17/11/2022

• Woman, aged 73, who passed away on 18/11/2022

• Woman, aged 86, who passed away on 18/11/2022

• Woman, aged 99, who passed away on 20/11/2022

• A man, aged 75, who passed away on 20/11/2022

• A man, aged 88, who passed away on 21/11/2022

• Woman, aged 81, who passed away on 21/11/2022

- Total number of deaths with final cause of the disease COVID-19: 1.226.

- 74 patients COVID-19 are hospitalized in OKYPY hospitals

- 7 in serious condition (ICU: 0 out of ventilator / 1 intubated, MAF: 6)

– 1 patient who stopped being infectious continues to be intubated due to COVID in the Intensive Care Unit.

Diagnostic examinations:

- A total of 73.973 diagnostic tests were performed

- 4.214 new cases were identified (total of 614.237 cases).

- Position rate in all exams 5,7%

Total number of molecular tests (PCR):

- 2.181 molecular tests were performed

- There were 199 positive incidents

- Position rate 9,12%

Total Rapid Test:

- 71.792 rapid antigen detection tests were performed

- There were 4.015 positive incidents

- Position rate 5,59%

Private initiative:

- 1.705 molecular tests were performed, 135 positive cases were identified (percentage of positivity 7,92%)

- 45.082 rapid antigen detection tests were performed, 3.683 positive cases were detected (positivity rate 8,17%)

Through the programs of the Ministry of Health, 26.710 rapid antigen detection tests were performed. 332 positive cases were identified.

- Sampling points: 14.965 rapid detection tests detected 203 positive cases (positivity rate 1,36%)

Education

- Primary Education: 809 rapid antigen detection tests, 6 positive cases were detected (positivity rate 0,74%)

– Secondary Education: 1.094 rapid detection tests, 7 positive cases detected (positivity rate 0,64%)

– Special Schools: 425 rapid antigen detection tests were performed, 1 positive case was detected (positivity rate 0,24%)

Other

– National Guard: 334 rapid antigen detection tests performed, 1 positive case detected (positivity rate 0,3%)

- Nursing homes: 4.969 rapid antigen detection tests were performed, 86 positive cases were detected (positivity rate 1,73%)

– Closed structures: 4.114 rapid antigen detection tests were performed, 28 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 0,68%).
