The delays in the issuance of property titles and the digitization of all procedures were discussed, among others, by a delegation of the Pancyprian Association of Land Development and Construction Entrepreneurs with the Deputy Director of the Department of Lands and Surveys, Elias Ellikos in the presence and service.
According to an announcement by the Pancyprian Association of Land Development and Construction Entrepreneurs, the representatives of the Association discussed, among other things, the delays observed in the issuance of property titles, proposing that the process of issuing the title begins at the completion of the building shell. in order to significantly reduce the waiting time, a proposal that requires a change in the legislation.
It is added that the Land Registry stated that the modification of the procedures is already in progress, so that private surveyors can take responsibility, ensuring that the title will be issued no later than three months after the date of final approval, provided that together with the applications for issuance securities, all the required certified documents are submitted.
In addition, the Association's representatives also noted "difficulties in need of immediate intervention, such as the pending public utility billing scheme" and that "current provisions allow property users not to repay the debt passing it on to the manufacturers, or the owners ".
According to the announcement of the Pancyprian Association of Land Development and Construction Entrepreneurs, "special mention was made of the need for full digitization of the procedures related to the services of the Land Registry".
It is reported that the delegation of the Association recognized the effort that has already been implemented in terms of the use of technology for better and faster service of the public and companies by the state, but said that it must proceed immediately.
It is added that the President of the Association, Michalis Hatzipanagiotou, stated that the digitization of all the stages required for the completion and sale of a property, such as the electronic verification and payment of any debts during the transfer of a property, is of great importance.
"This will have a particularly positive effect on the market as a whole, removing the bureaucratic and time-consuming procedures required today," the association said in a statement.
