Cyprus 6th most expensive country in the European Union in bread and cereals

In 2020, according to Eurostat, the price of bread and cereals across the EU was about two and a half times higher in the most expensive Member State than in the cheapest.

When price levels are compared to the EU average of 100, according to the European Statistical Office, the results show that the price of bread and cereals was higher in Denmark in 2020 (at 153), followed by Austria. (135), Luxembourg, Finland and Sweden. Cyprus had a price index of 120, according to the data.

By contrast, prices for bread and cereals were the lowest in Romania (price index 56), followed by Bulgaria (67) and Poland (70).
