Elderly people without a history of vaccination are the majority of patients in public hospitals, said OKYPY spokesman Charalambos Charilaou.
Speaking on state radio, Mr. Charilaou said the median age of the patients was seventy.
He noted that the situation in public hospitals is fluid, but noted that the stabilization of epidemiological indicators is encouraging.
He also expressed the hope that in the next period of time there will be a decrease in the number of patients.
The OKYPY spokesman again urged the citizens to observe the necessary protection measures. He also called on the elderly who have not been vaccinated or received the booster dose to do so immediately.
