The Communication Advisor of the Ministry of Health, Konstantinos Athanassiou, spoke on the Front Page about the developments regarding the latest measures taken.
Initially talking about reducing the self-limitation period from 14 to 10 days, for people who are close contacts of a confirmed positive incident COVID-19 stated that this measure concerns:
(a) persons without a history of vaccination
b) persons who have completed their vaccination program and the period of 7 months has elapsed
c) persons who have been ill and the period of 90 days has elapsed
The decision enters into force on January 24, 2022.
He then referred to the reduction of the illness certificate to three months, saying, "If someone has completed 31 days by January 90, the illness certificate will be revoked."
He explained that the 90 days for the illness certificate are for domestic use.
The European Certificate will state the validity of the certificate for 6 months and will be for travel purposes only.
"So if someone travels to a country where the validity of the certificate is accepted for 180 days, that person will be covered."
