The Police secured exhumation and autopsy orders for the body of 15-year-old Ioanna Skordis, who died at the Makarios Hospital in March 2022, as Police Spokesman Christos Andreou told KYPE.
"After we have asked the forensic service whether in the context of investigating the case it would be possible after such a long time to secure some evidence regarding a possible exhumation and autopsy on the body of the 15-year-old and after their response, decrees have already been secured exhumation but also a necropsy on the body of the 15-year-old" and "it is already planned to proceed with an exhumation, perhaps even within the day, and then an autopsy".
Mr. Andreou said that coroners Angeliki Papetta and Orthodoxos Orthodoxou will be present at the exhumation on behalf of the state.
He added that the family also has the right to appoint a coroner, as well as some doctors, but they must go to court to secure orders to attend the exhumation and autopsy.
