"Bells" up to € 8.000 in premises for non-compliance with measures

A total of 2.035 inspections and 24 complaints were made throughout Cyprus in the last 24 hours by the Police for the observance and implementation of the decrees of the Infection Law.

The audits revealed complaints for 15 persons and 9 premises, where the corresponding extrajudicial fines were served, the largest of which amounts to € 8.000 and concerns a premises in Limassol.

Specifically, in Nicosia, 740 inspections were carried out and 6 persons and 7 premises were reported. In Limassol, 185 inspections were carried out and 1 premises was reported. In Larnaca, 327 inspections were carried out and 1 person and 1 premises were reported. In Paphos 112 inspections were carried out and 1 person was reported, in the province of Famagusta 381 inspections were carried out and 7 persons were reported, while in the area of ​​Morfos 154 inspections were carried out, without any complaint.

The Port Police carried out 22 checks, also without any complaint, while no complaints emerged from the checks at the airports. In 115 traffic checks, there were also no complaints.

Regarding the complaints of premises in Nicosia, an extrajudicial fine of € 1.500 was imposed on a restaurant, where an employee without a safe pass was located, an extrajudicial fine of € 750 was imposed on a bakery, where no safe pass was checked, while another 4 stores were fined € 500 for each, because those in charge did not have a safe pass.

In Limassol, a fine of € 8.000 was imposed on an electrical store, because there was no check for safe passage of customers at the entrance. Finally, in Larnaca an extrajudicial fine of € 750 was imposed on a cafeteria, because a customer was allowed to enter without a safe pass.
