Kasoulidis: If Christodoulidis comes down, they will probably both lose

The RIK show "Challenges" hosted the new Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulidis, who also spoke about the internal party issues in DISY in view of the 2023 Presidential elections.

Specifically, Mr. Kasoulidis stated that Nikos Christodoulidis had to accept the proposal of Averof Neophytos and resort to the party base and the selection of the candidate for the President.

He added that it is possible that if Nikos Christodoulidis runs as an independent candidate, the scenario Alekos Markidis - Glafkos Clerides will be repeated and both candidates will lose. He wondered what policy one should rely on to make political choices.

At the same time, he stated that Mr. Neophytou showed his course in politics as a party leader, while he wondered what Mr. Christodoulidis has shown. "What is his position on the Cyprus issue and the economy?"

He added that anyone can do their job at the Foreign Ministry without presenting their personal ambassadors and political views. "When you go for the Presidency of the Republic, you must present positions," said Mr. Kasoulidis.
