24 citizens and 4 people in charge of premises were reported for violating COVID measures, 2.302 inspections

In the last 24 hours (from 06.00 on Thursday until 06.00 today), 2.302 inspections were carried out by the Police throughout Cyprus, in order to verify the observance of the measures and the implementation of the decrees of the Law on Infection Cleaning.

As a representative of the Communication Branch of the Police Headquarters stated to KYPE, during the inspections, 24 complaints were made by citizens and 4 people in charge of premises.

With regard to provincial controls, in Nicosia 870 inspections were carried out, out of which 8 complaints of citizens and one property emerged, in Limassol 247 inspections were carried out, which resulted in 6 complaints from citizens and 2 Larnaca 493 inspections were carried out, which resulted in 2 complaints of citizens and an estate, in Paphos 114 inspections were carried out, from which 4 citizens' complaints emerged, in Famagusta 380 inspections were carried out, which resulted in 4 complaints from citizens in the area Morphou 105 inspections were carried out without any complaints.

Also, the Pancyprian Traffic Police carried out 89 inspections, without any complaints.

Of the 2.302 inspections, 4 concerned the Port and Maritime Police, from which no complaint emerged.

Answering a question, the representative of the Communication Branch of the Police Headquarters said that the majority of the complaints to citizens concerned the non-use of a protective mask.

Regarding the one estate in Nicosia, this is a cafeteria where a guest was located inside a property without safepass and an out-of-court settlement of € 4.000 was issued.

In Limassol, on one premises from an inspection it appeared that there was no safepass control and an extrajudicial € 4.000 was issued, while on the second premises from an inspection it appeared that the owner did not wear a protective mask and a fine of € 1.000 was issued.

In Larnaca, the premises concerned a Bakery, which from an inspection showed that he was responsible without safepass and an extrajudicial € 500 was imposed.
