Coronavirus: The quarantine for cases has not been lifted yet

One of the measures that it seems will not be abolished soon, is the quarantine for cases. 

What applies today to cases

For the coronavirus positive people according to the decision of the Council of Ministers dated 7 April 2022 the release from isolation is done automatically on the 7th day from the date of sampling of the first positive result without the need for laboratory testing. 

Citizens are informed from the previous night with Release SMS. 

The positive person however, it has the right to carry out molecular testing at its own expense PCR in a laboratory approved by the Ministry of Health on the 5th day self-restraint and be released on the same day meaning that the result of the control is negative.

There is the fear of going back

In his statements, O. Dr. Petros Karagiannisexpressed the appreciation that the quarantine for cases will hardly be lifted.

"We are already hearing about some increases in the number of cases in Portugal, France and Greece."

When asked, Dr. Karagiannis answered that "the new outbreaks observed due to sub-variants of Omicron».

Continuing, he stressed that based on the data from the tracking team, days ago were also located in Cyprus cases of sub-variants of Omicron, however it is at low levels at present.

"There is a possibility that the cases of sub-variants will increase and create a problem for us in the epidemiological picture." 

Finally, Dr. Karagiannis repeated that citizens should not be complacent, to observe self-protection measures and yes wear masks them -although the measure was abolished- where there is overcrowding.
